OK, I'm not new at painting.  But I have an issue.

While going though my SD stuff I find a ziplock baggy of spray painted EM-4 ships.
Not proud of how they looked, and not sure if oven cleaner would work (or eat the plastic) I painted over them again.
Using a darker spray paint.
Now I'm using these heavy sprayed ships as test beds for new schemes and painting techniques.

I've gotten some that I'm proud of (and will post those soon) and I have another idea.
But I need a clean figure for this and want to know-

What's the best way to strip 2 layers of spray paint off a plastic SD Electra fighter?

OK, well here's what has worked for me for *metal* minis.  I recommend that you experiment on one (1) ship before trying it in earnest...

Uncut Pine Sol cleaner.  Put the hapless mini in a clean glass jar and pour uncut Pine Sol over it, then close the lid on the jar and let sit for a half hour and check on it.  If the paint is starting to separate from the plastic, get some long lab tweezers or a pair of old chopsticks and fish the mini out of the Pine Sol bath and rinse with cold water.

Metal minis I would leave normally overnight, as I know the Pine Sol will not affect the metal.. *Plastics,* I'm not so sure, so you're going to have to experiment... Wink

Good luck! Shocked

Thanks.
I was afraid of that.  OK, I'll try with one.  I know Pine-Sol or Oven-Off would work stripping paint.  -Off metal figures.
Expariment time this week....
